I'll quickly run down the updates.

First concerning continued education. CBP does not agree with a new license status to give an in-active designation. CBP also does not support an apprenticeship program saying that if someone passes the broker exam and background check, they should be considered a licensed broker.

CBP supports the continued education program. They would like it to be the brokers responsiblity to provide an education report and not reported through NEI. CBP would also like to move forward on an annual or bi-annual report through the ACE portal and move away from the tri-annual.

Concerning the "swift action" noted in the post, CBP would like to move from a 30 day notice to a 10 day notice.

The alternate permit format will move forward.

That's about it for now. I'll keep updating with any new information. Please feel free to comment on one or all of the above proposals. None of this is set in stone yet and we still have a voice in what happens with our industry.
